The year is two thirds done and the air has a certain crispness to it at night. No doubt that fall is approaching, but we’ll get to enjoy warm days for a little while longer (hopefully anyway!). The eighth month of the year brought some previous types of photography and locations back to me, topics and places I’ve not had much contact with for the duration of the pandemic, so that was a lot of fun!

A comeback post?
Tap, tap, tap…is this thing still on? Mic check…mic check…hello! I guess it still works. Good! It has been a loooooong time since I did anything with this blog of mine, and I think I will chalk that up to the whole 2020 experience. But since today is the last day of this “annus horribilis” (to quote the Queen) I figured an update is not a bad idea.

Ninth mone done and I am fast approaching the 300th picture of the year. Wow! September was an interesting month in this project where I did a few things I’ve not really done before, including paying a visit to a local music and culture festival (more about that later in the blogpost).
Also, this post is a bit on the late side (I usually try to post my wrap-up post of the previous month as soon as possible once the month is over, but this time around I took a blogging break because…well…sometimes it is good to do that - pure and simple.

It is one of the dreaded parts of a creative endeavor, be it music, writing, photography, painting etc. That feeling of “what is the point really?” or “my stuff really sucks” or “I should just sell all my gear and withdraw into a cave!”. I’ve had it happen before, so it’s not exactly a new feeling, but it’s still uncomfortable and unnerving when it does arrive. I’ve felt it slowly creep up on me during the summer even though I’ve been quite happy with the stuff I’ve been shooting and posting. The change in weather and most important - light - might also have something to do with it.

Wrap-up post number eight of the year and only four to go now before this year’s edition of the 365 idea is done. Yay! It did feel a bit endless there for a while in March when I was on month three, but now it absolutely feels like something I’ll finish, making this my third success out of four tries at this sort of thing. Of course, by saying it like this I’ve no doubt jinxed myself somehow…aw well…shrug

Another month done, so it is time for a monthly wrap-up post. This makes for my fourth such post, making this a third of the year done already. It doesn’t feel like I’ve done 120 days of this project, but when I do look in my 365 folder on the computer there are indeed over 120 images there…so it must be true.
Anyway, spring made its full and complete arrival during the month of April, and there were even hints of summer temperatures right around Easter, which made for an enjoyable couple of days right around that holiday.

One fourth of the year is over and I have another 31 images to write a blog post about…my March “harvest”. It’s been an interesting month photography wise, because at long last it looks like the snotfest we call winter is finally over and we’re on the way towards better light, which is pretty crucial for photography…at least if you want to take anything more than “moody” gray photos (nothing wrong with those though if that’s what you’re after).

It’s been a bit longer than usual between this post and my previous one (about podcasts) and even longer between this one and my previous photography related post. I think I got hit with the almost annual it’s-winter-and-it’s-too-dark-to-shoot-anything-and-why-am-I-even-bothering-with-this-hobby symptoms. I’m through that now though (I hope), especially with a few sunny days that we’ve had in the last week or so! Of course when I write this first part of the blog post it’s pouring down with rain again, but i guess you can’t have it all (and I am not outside in it, but rather inside, tapping away at my keyboard)!

As I post this on my site it is November 29, 2018. It also happens to be my brother’s birthday with mine happening yesterday (so yay us I guess). I figured that it being our birthdays was a good time to restart posting stuff to both here and to various social media presences…because let’s face it…it’s been quite a while, hasn't it?

Fourth month of the year is done and once again it is time for a little monthly wrap-up post from me. April was not a very happy month for me and I am very glad we are now into the month of May when the weather is better and the light lasts longer and longer every day! I did lose the urge to post my images every day right after the middle of the month, but I've since caught up again and I don't have any plans on stopping the project before I am done on December 31st.
