There are many medieval markets and fairs during the summer months in Sweden, but this weekend was the first time I've attended the one in Lund, Sweden. It was a rather low-key affair compared to some of the larger hooplas I've seen, but I liked that. It gave the visitors space to actually move around and look at the wares and things on sale, as well as the various "medieval" activities you could try out, like axe throwing, archery or even shooting with a siege engine (yep...a real ballista...even if it was rather small).

“Take less photos...take better photos!” That was the phrase that I started out this year with, and while it feels like I’ve done just that so far this last week has been a direct contradiction of that. At least the first part (hopefully not the last part).
Read MoreOut on the streets...again! :-)
A Saturday afternoon is well spent with fellow photographers taking in an interesting exhibition and then doing a leisurely photowalk through the familiar streets of Malmö, Sweden. A surprising amount of keepers among the photos too, which is something to be happy about!
Read MorePride Parade in Lund
For the second time (I think so at least) on May 23rd 2015, there was to be a Pride parade in Lund, Sweden and I figured I could get some good photos out of that, since those events tend to be rather colorful, and everyone there is so happy take part, to make it an event. Like I mentioned in the previous blog entry the amount of photos taken lately has been rather low, so it was also an opportunity to get some new shots.
Once I had taken all the photos of the colorful participants I figured I'd do something new with my photos. So I decided to join the twenty-first century and make a little slideshow video of my shots, which you can watch below. Hope you enjoy!
Can you really take good pictures with that thing?
There’s been very little new photography for me in the last week or so for a few reasons, one being I’ve been busy with photo club stuff (our big international exhibition was shown last weekend and I was the whirling dervish of tech for that, which gave me very little time for photography). I pretty much only had time to snap the panorama photo shown above.
Also my best photo buddy, a.k.a. my dad, is temporarily incapacitated with a bad knee which makes it impossible for him to tag along on photo walks and expeditions. That has put a serious damper on my urges to go out shooting for a bit. Hopefully some time with a physiotherapist will help that though, so that he can come with me again on our little adventures.
I have snapped a few shots here and there though with my soon-to-be-replaced HTC One M7 and played around with them in Snapseed 2.0 when I’ve not bothered to take my big DSLR with me. (I know...there are times that I do that sort of thing...leave home with no camera except for the one in the cell phone...that’s probably a major no-no for a photography inclined person…). My cellphone camera isn't very good in low light, but given the right conditions it can take a half decent snapshot...which then can be improved with some post-processing.

May means outdoor living
It is definitely true that when it gets warmer the Swedes move outside! Also they tend to put on more colorful clothes than during the winter months. The city was full of people on a perfectly ordinary Wednesday and there were plenty of opportunities to shoot street photography!
The blog has been silent for a little while (I missed my usual self-imposed Sunday deadline, mostly because I didn't have any new photos I felt like sharing), but hopefully I'll be able to start it up again with this group of photos taken in the city of Lund, Sweden on May 6th.
Sakura in Copenhagen
Sometimes I wonder how many times you have to do something for it to become a tradition. Two? Three? More? Anyway...this weekend marked my fourth time visiting the Sakura festival in Copenhagen, Denmark to photograph the blossoming cherry trees, the performances and mostly the people visiting the festival.
Read MoreSeeing animals in the woods
I've been seeing animals in the woods...and no, I am not talking about deer, or squirrels or even birds (although I saw those too). At least not this time. No...I'm talking about the kind of animal...or creature shapes you can see in tree trunks and fallen branches. I guess it is a bit like looking at clouds and seeing familiar shapes and animals there. It's all in the way your brain and eyes are tuned into seeing it.
Read MoreGoing "viral"
For some reason this image of mine went utterly viral on Google+ in the last week. I'm by no means the most popular person on that social network (according to the stats I've got about 1300 followers, which is not that impressive given that most of those are probably bots...but that's okay. I enjoy my time there anyway. Hunting and gathering followers has never been my goal on any social network.
Read MoreNever far from the sea
When you live in Skåne, Sweden like I do you're never really that far away from the ocean. I don't see it every day, but it is a nice feeling to know that it is only a short drive there to get the salty smell in your lungs and getting to see the vast expanse of water in front of you.
