For some reason this image of mine went utterly viral on Google+ in the last week. I'm by no means the most popular person on that social network (according to the stats I've got about 1300 followers, which is not that impressive given that most of those are probably bots...but that's okay. I enjoy my time there anyway. Hunting and gathering followers has never been my goal on any social network.
I posted the image of my mother's tulips a few days ago, mostly to celebrate that it at last seems to have gotten warm-ish in southern Sweden, and for some reason the +1s began to accumulate. They were mostly from people in the middle east or the Indian subcontinent, judging by the names, so I am guessing someone with a lot of followers there re-shared my image and it sort of took off from there. I certainly don't mind, but I just find it interesting to see which images "take off" and which don't. While I am happy with the image I don't find it my best work by any stretch of the imagination!
Hopefully some of the people who liked my tulips image will like my street photography or my other photos too. If not, that's okay also. I am going to enjoy seeing people appreciate my image and I must admit it's sort of exciting to see how high the numbers will get. But it won't change my world in any major way. :-)
I wrote the previous paragraphs a day or so ago, and now it seems the +1 accumulation has dwindled somewhat in speed. It's currently sitting at 747 +1s, with 23 re-shares. I guess I should send a big thank you towards one or several of those 23 for sending so many viewers my way. So thank you very much!
