I’ve recently come home from an absolutely amazing vacation to Texas where I got to see and photograph some pretty outstanding things (the total eclipse, the Texas spring wildflower explosion and the indescribably fascinating desert at Big Bend National Park to name just a few). I will share stuff from this trip eventually of course, but it’ll take awhile to go through the 2,000+ exposures so that will have to wait. In the meantime I will share this brief one day little outing to the nearby Dalby Söderskog National Park, Sweden, where I took a short (about 2.5 hours or so) walk through the woods, capturing the last few spring flowers still showing off their white hats before the trees’ canopies of leaves block them from the sunlight.

The 365 Project - August Wrap-Up
Outside the colors have just started to turn towards yellow, red and brown rather than various shades of green, which means that the summer months are now just about over. It's also time for my eighth wrap-up post for this year's "one picture per day project".
As before I have one "cover image" and five other images that I write a little bit more about. If you're interested in seeing more of my Instagram 365 project all the images can be found under each month if you click the Instagram 365 menu on the left.

This weekend I was at a photowalk in Trelleborg, a small town on the southernmost coast of Sweden. I was kind of surprised that 11 people showed up to photograph there on a Sunday, because not a whole lot was going on that day. It was great to catch up with old friends though, as well as chatting with a few new ones.

Last Sunday I felt It was time to do another stroll in the city of Malmö to capture whatever struck my fancy and while it wasn't the most well-populated streets I think I found a few interesting things to take pictures of; among tourists, bicycles, pedal boats in the canal and wall murals, to name a few.

Photography is back on. Well...a little bit anyway. I've done one photo outing so far this year and it felt pretty good. I went to an old ”hunting ground” with my oft camera buddy...my father. We drove the Övedskloster mansion and garden for some photography in the all to rare sunshine. I've been there many times before, so it wasn't that feeling of ”oooh, I've got to photograph this thing I've never seen before”, it was more the joy of seeing something again that you've liked before. I told my dad that if we didn't get any shots worth saving that day it was okay too, just being outside in the sunshine felt good enough.
I took a few pictures, and share a few of those in this blog post. Hopefully I can make a weekly post (at least) this year. Every Sunday is not a bad goal to have. It should be an achievable deadline for just about anyone...including yours truly!
