Just like it does every year fall arrives in this part of the world at this time of year, and every year I am out there trying to catch some of the spectacular colors. Although I must admit that after the last few years doing A LOT of landscapes rather than street photography for social distancing reasons my heart hasn’t really been into it as much this year. But, after a lot of rain and crappy weather in the last few weeks, I saw the sunshine outside and thought I could really do with some fall colors today!
So I headed to one of my usual photography spots…the park surrounding the Alnarp Agricultural University just a 15 minute drive from home. I go there at any time of year and there’s usually something to photograph…except perhaps in mid-winter when we get just a few hours of daylight and the colors are pretty much restricted to brown, black and faded yellows!
Not so this time though! I was kind of surprised that there were that many flowers still in bloom, as well as the trees still being as green as they were. This is is late October in Sweden we’re talking about after all. I guess having just one frost night so far is what is keeping these plants and trees in color still. Once the temperature starts to creep below freezing for several nights I think the growing season is finally over.
One final image that definitely does not match with the others in this post.. However, I couldn’t help myself in these Halloween times…I had to make this shot of a climbing vine of some sort into a spooky monster with long arms extended…as if ready to attack! A bit of adjustment in Lightroom Classic first and then into Silver Efex Pro 2 for some more tinkering to give it that monster-ish feel.
