I wrote in the last blog post that I didn’t really have any plans for what I am going to do with my 2025 photographic or creative year and that still stands. No clue yet…however I also wrote that I’d try to get out there more to take more pictures, even if it is still pretty meh around here as far as light and weather goes. It IS getting better though, the days are getting longer and you don’t risk freezing body parts off when out and about (provided you wear sensible clothing of course!).
I had a little bit of extra time before my biweekly photo club meeting on a Monday afternoon so I figured I’d take a stroll down my usual “hunting ground” in central Malmö, Sweden. It’s a path I’ve walked so many times that the novelty has long since worn off as far as landscape or architecture go, but it can certainly provide the background to photos of people who are out and about!
I shot these with my Fujifilm XT-3 and a 35 mm 2.0 lens. I figured I needed all the light I could get, but it turned out that many of the photos were a little bit overexposed. Next time around I don’t have to shoot all the photos at an aperture of 2.0. I guess I was a bit rusty on the street photography thing, having not shot much of anything, let alone street, since before Christmas.
I have converted all of the shots to black and white in Lightroom Classic, because they had a variety of color temperatures depending on the storefronts, car headlights, street lights of various ages. This way the images look slightly more consistent and coherent. They’ve all had a slight crop and various other tweaks to light and contrast levels.
