For the past three years the number of public events have been somewhat limited (for obvious reasons) so seeing more and more festivals, concerts and other public events take place is a good sign for sure! That’s why I suggested to my dad we go to the recently re-kindled Harbor Festival in Limhamn (a part of the city of Malmö in Sweden), an event we’d gone to a few times before the plague descended upon the world.
In the end I ended up going there with mom, dad and my nephew who said he’d like to learn more about photography by coming along on “photographic expeditions” with us. I must admit to being quite “chuffed”, as the British probably never really say, about that. I don’t have any kids of my own, but getting to hang out with him (or his sister) is great fun and being able to share my interest in photography with either one of them (she’s somewhat into it too) is great!
This year’s edition of the Harbor festival was centered around the old ferry quay and at a much smaller scale than the pre-Covid editions, making for rather tight quarters here and there, especially with the thousands of people showing up for the four-day event. While that was great for the organizers there were places here and there where I had to put my natural aversion to tight crowds to the side and just deal with it. It was a lovely day with family at a pretty location, so it was all good. And the street food we had was yummy (and very plentiful) too, so I have no complaints…quite the contrary!
