This weekend was another one where I had a good time involving photography. At first there was the monthly get-together with fellow Facebook group members at a local café, where we spend a few hours hanging out and talking about whatever we come up with...not necessarily related to photography, but often circling back to it.
After that (and some errands on the town) I joined a group of photographers called Instagramers Malmoe for their "World Wide Instameet 13" event. I'm not much of an Instagram person beyond using it to upload my 365 project, so this was only my second such event, but I figured since I was in town and many of the FB group members would take part I joined in.
We walked some of the parks in the city, seeing some new feathered arrivals and then we steered ourselves towards some of the more bike-friendly parts, since the theme for the Instameet was the environment and what we can do for it in the future. I am not sure I took all that many themed pictures (nor did I snap that many with my cell phone...which I thought was sort of the point of an Instagramer group, but it was still a lot of fun).
I will definitely keep an eye out for more of these meetups in the future. It's not a time to take your most earth-shatteringly great photos (I'm more of a loner when it's time for photography), but it is a great way to hang out with likeminded individuals, who share your interest in photography, whatever the genre or equipment might be.
