As someone who has been out and about in the local area with a camera since around 2000 it is increasingly difficult to find a brand new location within, say half an hour’s drive from home. Therefore it was a bit of a thrill to head out there today when I found a brand new nature preserve not too far from home. The fact that the weather was different from the rain, rain, rain was also adding to the excitement. Not to mention I’ve been under the weather myself for a few days so I was eager to go. There was even a faint hint of a blue sky as I stepped out the door to the car…fancy that!
These are my first ever images taken at Borstbäcken Nature Preserve outside Lund, Sweden. It is a nice wooded area next to a little stream (although with all the rain we’ve had lately it was quite a violently flowing stream), one you could hear from quite a distance. Me and my constant photo buddy (a.k.a. Dad) didn’t walk too far around the 5 mile footpath, this was just a first visit, but what we saw made us both think that when spring happens for real around here this will make for an excellent destination again!
There was a substantial amount of water running past me as I took this, so I was careful not to step in the wrong place!
It felt nice when the sun poked through the clouds, but there was still a fair bit of frost left in the shadier areas.
Anyone saying this province is flat has clearly not seen all of it yet!
