As the people who see the pictures I post on this blog ((yeah, the two of you who actually do read this blog ;-)) have noticed there's been A LOT of black and white photos from me lately, since I've done so much analog stuff in the last year. So except for my monthly wrap-up posts on my 365 project, it has become a rarity for me to post color shots like these.
For several years I've been volunteered by my dad to shoot when a local senior citizen's organisation stages fashion shows (dad is one of the "runway models" so there's that connection).
These were shot at the beginning of April, but have been waiting on my hard drive for me to do the editing and the selects. I didn't do myself any favors with that by making the rookie mistake of switching off the RAW setting on one of the cameras I was using to shoot the event when I wanted to make sure I had it switched on. *headdesk* So adjusting the white balance on some of the images wasn't as easy as I'd hoped...but there ya go...you learn something new every day from your mistakes.
Also...I've been shooting analog so much lately that I felt REALLY rusty with digital photography and shot a lot to make sure I had accurate coverage. That didn't give me LESS work at the editing stage either since I came home with over 700 images! Next time around I need to be more selective, if nothing else to keep my sanity during the editing!
Still...I like these shots because while they aren't exactly the sharpest photos I've ever taken they do give an impression of the event and I managed to get quite the variety of expressions, scenes and locations in the room used for the event. I think they might call on me again to shoot this event when it's time for the fall edition.
