This introduction could probably be xeroxed from year to year as I did yet another 365 project, but this year (my 6th attempt) was a lot different than the previous year’s eventual successful run at it.

So much of 2020 was dominated by the effects of the pandemic hitting all parts of the world that I couldn’t wait for 2021 to be the year of the world’s gradual comeback to some level of normalcy. While it took a lot longer than many thought it would take to distribute the vaccine at the time at least there was hope at the start of the year.

In the last few weeks of the year I started to feel that the return to normalcy during the fall and winter months of 2021 would make a nice stopping point of my 365 projects. With the conclusion of that year’s project I had uploaded 5 years’ worth of images, well over 1,800 daily images! Before it started to feel like a chore, more of an obligation than a challenge I figured I would put a stop to it.

Will I do another long-term project similar to these? I don’t know to be honest, but I do know that it is possible to carry on a long-term project for an extended period of time, and that’s both an encouraging as well as comforting thought!
