For as long as I can remember I've loved books and reading. For many years as a kid I averaged about a book per week, but lately I have been sorely lacking in my reading discipline. I chalk that up to the fact that I had to switch to bifocals awhile back and before that I sort of weened myself off reading since I couldn't read the smallest printed letters with my old glasses. Now though I don't have any excuse NOT to read, so I should have a crack at my "to be read pile", which can be seen in the top pic (it's also a picture in my Instagram 365 project, which will soon reach its halfway mark...wow...that went by fast!).
I thought I told myself specifically I didn't really need any more books until I got myself through that pile of books, but then I paid a visit to the local sci-fi book store to snap a pic or two for a friend who wanted to know what the place looked like (it's awesome by the way), and I couldn't walk out of there without buying something now could I? Since I have just about all the other books Terry Pratchett has ever done I had to get his last too. I definitely enjoyed Robinson's Mars series (Red Mars, Blue Mars, Green Mars) so when I found one of his newer books on sale I figured it was a bargain.
So now I've created more "work" for myself...brilliant, just brilliant! But then again...the long summer days are perfect for reading...so I guess I should dig in...
